Imagine you have been living in a foreign country – Germany – for a
total of almost 10 years. One day, you start to reflect on your experiences
during those years and it suddenly dawns on you that you have been a student
there, got your first job after graduating there, met your husband there, had
two children there, rented numerous flats there, and even bought and sold a
property there. You also studied German, so you consider yourself fairly fluent
in both the German language and way of life. Nevertheless, you aren’t naïve and
you always knew that living in a foreign country would have its ups and downs.
What you didn’t realise was just how many. Here is my version of the story. I hope you
find something you can relate to and feel free to laugh at or with me. Welcome to my blog!
